Seychelles-India Trade and Investment Forum
The Indian High Commission in collaboration with the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a half day forum with theme “Creating Synergies, Exploring New Frontiers”, on the 4th of March, 2016. The forum took place at 0900hrs until 1300hrs in the STC Conference Room in Latanier Road.
The aim of this forum was to bring together the Seychellois and Indian businessman to explore new ways and possibilities of doing business together. As we know there is a multi-nation business arena in Seychelles, which include Seychellois as well as Indians. The forum served as a platform where businesses from both origins can meet with each other to discuss the different possibilities of trade between Seychelles and India.
There are various opportunities for investment and business exchanges between India and Seychelles. Possibilities for Seychelles businesses to benefit from the vast experience of India’s business community, as there has been significant possibilities for investment in the energy sector, commerce and ICT, the blue economy, motor vehicle among others, which are all areas where India excels and Seychelles could benefit from these.
Minister of Finance, Trade and Blue Economy, Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, Minister of Investment, Entrepreneurship Development & Business Innovation, Mr. Michael Benstrong, SCCI representatives and the Indian High Commissioner, H. E. Mr. Sanjay Panda were among the speakers. Also present were officials from different Ministries and Private sectors and explained on the different trade prospects between the two countries. Seychellois as well as Indian businessmen were invited as guest speakers during the plenary sessions.
This forum is the first one among other forums that will be organized on a larger scale whereby business persons from India will be invited.
