On the occasion of the tourism week (23rd to 29th Sept), The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) CHAIRMAN Marco Francis extends, on behalf of the Chamber, his best wishes to tourism industry sector members, employees and business owners.

SCCI Chairman Francis’ message focuses on the fact that the Seychellois business community should take ownership of its tourism industry in order to ensure that it incorporates more our identity and allows it to flourish.

“Tourism is the pillar of our economy and we need to ensure that we participate fully in its development while ensuing that our people take maximum benefits from this industry, which directly brings income into the pockets of numerous Seychellois”, Mr. Francis declared.

There are several sectors represented in the SCCI that are directly or indirectly involved in the tourism industry including the hotels & guesthouses, DMCs, Taxi Association, boat charters and Car Hire operators.

Mr. Francis also takes the opportunity to commend the good work being undertaken by the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) in achieving the 13% increase in arrival numbers over last year and diversifying the markets.

“The public/private partnership that we are witnessing in the tourism sector is commendable and falls very much in line with the SCCI’s philosophy of encouraging such actions in all sectors of our industry. It is by uniting together that we will be able to move our country forward. Let us put our heads together for the betterment of Seychelles and all of us must play our part to seek further progress for our country. Our motto is - One Voice, One People, One Seychelles,” Mr. Francis concluded
