SCCI establishes key contacts at Brussels Forum

The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Chairman Mr. Marco Francis returned to Seychelles today after attending the 15th International Summit on Transnational Crime, which took place in Brussels from 16th to 19th October. The Pan African Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PACCI) designated Mr. Francisto represent the African continent.

The key topics discussed at the Crans Montana forum were:

  • The Eurozone crisis and its impact on Africa
  • The impact of climate change on some economic systems
  • Food security and protecting the national framework
  • Maritime transport industry and piracy in the horn of Africa
  • Anti-corruption and good governance

Other participants at the forum include Mr. Herman de Croo, the Belgian Minister of State, Belgium, the Somali Minister of Defence, Mr. Abdulhakim Faqi, the Tanzanian Minister of African Development, Mr. Samuel Sitta, the Romanian State Secretary Mr. Stejarel Olaru and the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander for NATO in Europe, General Alexander Shirreff.

Many other high officials and participants were in attendance.



The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Chairman Mr. Marco Francis took the opportunity of his transit stop in Addis Ababa on the way to the Brussels Crans Montana summit, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, H.E Khalil Abdullah Al Khonji.The MOU paves the way for the two Chambers to work together to provide the platform for trade and investment between Seychelles and Oman.
