The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is the voice of the business community. It plays a crucial role in promoting the growth of private businesses in the economy. The SCCI was founded in 1938. Today it is a fully operational organization which promotes new and stronger identity for private investment in a rapidly changing business environment.

The Role of the Chamber is to provide practical help and support to its members in dealing with the day to day problems arising in the business community. The SCCI also plays an active role in discussing policies and matters affecting the economy with the Government and engages in discussion with NGO’s on matter affecting the civil society. The Chamber also meets with international and regional bodies to discuss current situations and recommend necessary solutions.
The management and affairs of the Chamber is directed by a board of 16 Councilors including a Chairman, Vice Chairman and a Treasurer. The Board meets once a month. The Councilors are from various sectors of the economy. The day to day running of the Chamber is taken care by the Secretary General. The Chamber has four permanent Staff, the Secretary General, an Executive Secretary, a Personal Assistant/Trade Promotion Officer and a secretary.
